New week - same crap!
Life is as it always is for me - a bit of a challenge. I mentioned in a previous blog that I've been feeling very down lately. I finally summoned up enough money to go to the doctor and they checked my thyroid levels. Turns out they were higher than normal, so they gave me a new prescription for a higher dose. It seems to help a bit, I must admit. Perhaps that was the problem after all?
They also agreed (finally) that the depression pill I've been taking for years may not be as effective as it once was and added a new one (Wellbutrin XL). I'm waiting for my insurance company to approve this. It freaks me out to turn to yet another pill, when what I really want is to break free from all the meds I pump into my body these days. I thought they would discontinue my old pill in favor of a newer one - instead I am supposed to take both. Still, if it will help me get out of this dark funk - well, it may be worth it.
I took my kids to see Santa this past weekend. I could hardly believe that Meaghan agreed to have her photo taken. She is at that age (11 in a couple more weeks) where she is getting wise to who Santa is and all that - and last year she refused to sit on his lap. You can't really tell from this photo, but Santa is sitting on a "throne of Coke"! Yep, a bunch of 12 packs built to look like a chair. Geez! Well, what can you expect from Wal*Mart? I normally wouldn't take them there for a Santa visit, but they offered a free 5x7 photo, so I couldn't really say no. I think it turned out pretty good.
My mom gave me $200 to go shopping on Black Friday. I was up at 3:45 AM to hit the stores at 4AM. It was surprisingly full. I didn't think the ads were all that great actually, but there were several items the kids wanted and were available at good prices. I've noticed the older my kids get, the less I can find a good deal for them in the Black Friday sale ads. At least I have most of their stuff bought...we will repay her for the gifts when we get Brian's bonus in a couple of weeks. It is hard to believe that we have already passed Thanksgiving and have now moved into the Christmas season! What happened to the year? At least we got the Christmas tree put up last night...one less thing to worry about.
My son is in a play this week - something to do with animals. He is supposed to be a "bird of prey"...WTF? How in the heck am I supposed to make him a costume for that? I guess I'll just try my best. I'm also stupid because I promised to work on the scenery - which I don't have the time for. I have to make a huge entrance for the zoo which will hang over the front of the stage. Er, Ok...not exactly easy. I have to have it done by Wednesday morning and I haven't even started.
Meaghan is keeping me busy too. She has her first cello recital on the 8th. Her birthday party is the very next day. Argh! Too much stress...
Well, it is late and I should be in bed. I will post again very soon.
